Inspiration From Coffee-mate

So there are two things I thoroughly enjoy when it’s time to kick my feet up on the couch and relax.  Drinking coffee and watching HGTV.  I can totally get absorbed in both.  My coffee addiction is legendary, as is the barista bar in my home.  Brewing up a cup of coffee and tuning in to Flip or Flop, Love It or List It or my new favorite Flipping the Block, has me completely engrossed on a Sunday evening.

Did you see last week’s episode?  Whitney (who also happens to have a blog!) & John won a consult with David Bromstad the previous week for their bathroom reno project.  He gave them some great advice and painted them some original art work.  I think my favorite part of the show was when Whitney pointed out how neat David’s signature was on the pieces, even in paint.  It looked very much like this (the signature not the art work!).

Art of Coffee by Bromstad

Oh yeah, that’s his signature on a bottle of Coffee-mate, because he designed these two new limited edition Hazelnut and French Vanilla flavored bottles.  What inspired him?  Why coffee and Coffee-mate of course!

(Psst..you’ll only find them at Target)

A splash of Hazelnut Coffee-mate in my coffee, inspired me to send a card to a friend.

Coffee-mate French Vanilla inspired me to bake up some Mango Oat Muffins (check out the recipe below).

And the bottle itself — well it inspired me to clean and color style the main bathroom.

I’d say Coffee-mate is pretty inspirational!

For more inspired fun, snap a photo of the newly designed bottles and share it on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #CMInspiresSweepsEntry for a chance to win a year’s worth of Coffee-mate, $500 Target GiftCards, and a signed print from David Bromstad!

You also won’t want to miss the Coffee-mate #CMInspires Twitter Party on Thursday, August 14 at 7pm CST, co-hosted by Courtney Whitmore of Pizzazzerie and … DAVID BROMSTAD!

2 cups of rolled oats
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup diced mango
1 cup Coffee-mate French Vanilla
6 oz. lite peach yogurt
2 large eggs
1/4 cup maple syrup

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and oil/grease/spray a 12 cup muffin pan.

Mix the oats, baking powder and cinnamon together.  Add the mango, Coffee-mate, yogurt, eggs and maple syurp and stir well until all ingredients are incorporated.

Scoop 1/4 cup of batter into each muffin cup.  Cover the entire pan with foil.  Bake for 20 minutes.  Remove foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes.

Cool on rack and remove muffins to cool completely.

  1. Muffins, creamer, and a bathroom redesign. I need some of that coffee! I love HGTV, and I agree Flipping the Block is awesome.
