If I’m going to be honest one of the things I like best about the holidays is the food, especially pie. Pecan Pie, Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie…I want.. All. The. Pies. Here comes a moment of truth though..I’m not so good at making pies myself. I’ve tried. Numerous times. The crust is never as flaky as I think it should be. The filling never as dense or as flavorful. The perfect pie from scratch, I’m of the opinion that it will take me years to master that, and I want the perfect pie…NOW! Plus this year with our daughter being away at college, I don’t want to be spending all my time in the kitchen baking – I want to spend it with her while she’s home for break!
And Marie Callender’s frozen pies makes that extraordinarily simple to do .
Whether I’m having guests in, or it’s just the three of us dining at home, Marie Callender’s frozen pies bring a homestyle taste to our table. With a great variety to choose from there is a dessert that will make everyone happy. But my favorite, is pumpkin pie.
When we have company I do like to step it up a notch though, adding a homemade touch to a Marie Callender’s frozen dessert, is easy and quick. I get compliments all the time on the taste of the dessert and do often have to smirk a little when I’m asked for my recipe. I’m not embarassed to admit that the pie itself came from the grocer’s freezer, mostly because I almost always get praised on my ingenuity on saving time with a product that tastes and looks as good as if I made it from scratch.
This Candied Pumpkin Pie is super easy to make using a Marie Callender’s Frozen Pumpkin Pie. The homestyle taste of the flaky crust and filling make a great base to complete a holiday meal and step up that pumpkin pie with a homemade touch .

And that’s it! If you want it to have even more of a holiday flavor, you could use gingerbread marshmallows instead of mini marshmallows. It’s easy, delicious and looks like a gourmet pie from a bakery display case .
