Comfort Zone ® with Feliway ® Diffuser (for the cats) and Comfort Zone ® with D.A.P. ® Diffuser (for the pup) both mimic the pheromones emitted by cats and dogs that send a signal of comfort, helping animals feel at home in their environment. When your pet senses the pheromone, she feels secure and comfortable, reducing her fear reactions and her urge to act out destructively through chewing, scratching or house soiling. It’s also a great product to help pets adapt to surroundings when introducing new family members or traveling.

My reviewer Tammie was excited to get the chance to try the Comfort Zone products for dogs. Her two year old Blue Heeler Border Collie mix named Pepper is not suffering from separation anxiety or trouble with storms, but she does have problems with people and some destructive chewing (Pepper, not Tammie…). Apparently they did not get Pepper socialized enough so new people scare her and when she is left alone for too long, anything she can find is chewed on.

The package arrived and she immediately plugged in the diffuser right by Pepper’s favorite spot, the back of the couch.

They think Pepper must really be part cat because she loves being on the back of the furniture. Right after plugging it in, Tammie said you could smell a slightly sweet smell if you got close but it didn’t fill the room.  Her dog checked it out and then went on her way.

Tammie thought this would be a temporary thing but unfortunately it wasn’t. For some reason Pepper would not go back to her favorite spot. The thought was maybe she didn’t like the object in the wall so she moved it to a spot Pepper couldn’t see but still close to the couch. Pepper still avoided her spot for a week until Tammie finally put the diffuser away.

She really can’t say if it helped or not because Pepper wasn’t around it. Since then the Comfort Zone Products have been handed to another friend with a brand new puppy who is having some separation anxiety and missing her doggy mom. Hopefully she will let us know how it worked for them and I can update this post with their results.

Update: Tammie gave the Comfort Zone dog spray to a co-worker and she says that it has done wonders for her dog. Usually her older dog won’t sit still in the car and goes nuts until they get to their destination. They go camping every weekend so they can’t just leave him home. Anyway, she used the spray in the car and their dog was a calm as can be. Amazing. She hasn’t noticed much at home but she may have the diffuser in to open of a space.

  1. What a interesting product,I have never heard of anything like this before,we take our little dog with us where ever we go if possible,,,

  2. We have 9 cats and use the Feliway Comfort Zone plug in. We have it in their cat room so they feel relaxed and happy.

  3. We used it when we took in a rescued young kitty because our two other, older cats were a little cranky to say the least. We put it in the kitchen in an outlet close to the ground. Our older male cat ended up always sleeping under it. Our girl cat didn't go near it much like your friends dog.
