I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Clearasil. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. #MC #ClearasilMom
Our daughter has never been a girly-girl. When most 12 or 13 year old girls were begging their mothers to wear make-up, Amber was more interested in beating the high level in the latest video game or trying to memorize Pi to the 104th digit. I admit as a mom I dropped the ball when it came to getting her into a skin care routine, part of it was because she really only got a pimple here or there at the time, but the real truth is I didn’t want to fight with her over it.
Getting older caught up with her though and at 15 or 16, it was evident that she needed to take the time and effort and start using some kind of skin wash to clear up and stop new breakouts. We tried various things off and on, but she never stuck with them and always declared it too much work.
She did a 180 this year though, about 6 weeks after we dropped her off at college. While breakouts and acne never seemed to bother her much before, now it was becoming a sensitive issue for her. Being a tiny freshman on a college campus who looks about 12 years old is more than enough to make one feel insecure, add acne breakouts to that and suddenly I was getting texts asking for advice on what she could do to clear her skin up.
About that time Influence Central sent an e-mail to apply for a Clearasil campaign for two of Clearasil’s facial cleansers that help fight acne and the feeling of being confident in your own skin. Just what Amber was looking for.
Clearasil Daily Clear Hydra-Blast Oil-Free Face Wash cleans thoroughly, fighting acne and preventing further breakouts, but with a formula that gently cleanses that won’t overdry your skin. In just 4 weeks, this dermatologist tested formula will help reduce breakouts by up to 85%. With a moisturizing complex in the face wash, skin is left feeling soft.
Clearasil Ultra Rapid Action Daily Gel Wash, works quickly, resulting in visibly clearer skin in as little as 12 hours. It’s dermatologist tested and scientifically formulated with maximum strength acne medication. That maximum strength allows it to start working fast to open blocked pores.
I was really surprised to find that Amber didn’t think it a big burden to use these cleansers. When she came home for Thanksgiving break she told me that she just kept them by her sink, and since she needs to walk right past it to get to her bedroom in her dorm, it was a reminder to her to use it whenever she brushed her teeth.
She does prefer to use the Hydra-Blast Oil-Free Face Wash over the Gel Wash, and unlike other skin cleansers she has used, she said that this does not exacerbate her skin, and it makes her face feel fresh and even mildly soothing after using it. She also likes the fact that it’s something she can get at local major retail stores, and that the price point of it fits affordably into a college student’s budget 😉
It says something to the efficacy of the product, because while her acne is not completely cleared up you can see a difference. Since she mostly has been using the Hydra-Blast Oil-Free Face Wash, the claim that it will help reduce breakouts by up to 85% in 4 weeks seems to be pretty accurate. The acne patches are no longer inflamed and irritated, and are starting to diminish in both size and color.
But mostly the fact that she is still using it, on her own without me nagging her, speaks volumes on how she feels about her self-esteem and what the Clearasil is doing for her to feel confident in her own skin.
